More Shrouds and Deadeyes

Hi,

I worked a bit last week on the Black Pearl rigging. There is some progress on the fore mast standing rigging! The starboard side is now completed. You can admire it in the next pictures.

This is how the lower part looks on the model. The shroud's deadeyes are now connected to the channel's deadeyes using the laniards.

Next, there is more or less the same picture but using some white paper to give you a better view with what is going on there.

And this is the full picture with the shrouds on the model. Isn't she pretty?

A different angle to give a new perspective always helps!

And this is how the shrouds look on the mast head.

In the previous 2 images you might have observed that there are some shrouds also on the port side. The shrouds are fitted in pairs alternatively, one on the starboard side and one on the port side. The port side is not yet complete, one more pair of shrouds is missing.

Now I have played a bit with the macro settings on the camera, so let's enjoy together some details from the Pearl. First is the bell. behind it, a bit out of focus you can see the windows to the captain's cabin. They look dirty, which is fine, because I have painted them with some paint that glows in the dark. I will share some pictures with this later, I promise!

These are the belaying pins from the mizzen mast. The mizzen yards' lifts will be secured on them.

The wheel. It needs no introduction, right?

One of the outer deck guns. And my attempt at weathering on it.

And some of the belaying pins near the fore mast.

And last, the hand rail rope with some cute bokeh from the belaying pins.

Now it is time to say goodbye for today. Next on the list is to finish the shrouds on the fore mast (one more pair to go), attach the fore mast stay (and maybe a preventer stay). This will (almost) complete the standing rigging for the fore mast (the ratlines are still missing, but I will finish them after all the standing rigging is done, otherwise they will get in the way).

Have a nice time till we meet again!

Bye bye!
